asking for financial support letter: Incompatible with God's Design Mary Jeremy Daigler, 2012 Incompatible with God's Design is the first comprehensive history of the Roman Catholic women's ordination movement in the United States. Mary Jeremy Daigler explores how the focus on ordination, and not merely increased participation in the life and ministries of the church, has come to describe a broad movement. Moving well beyond the role of such organizations as the Women's Ordination Conference, this study also addresses the role of international and local groups. In an effort to debunk a number of misperceptions about the movement, from its date of origin to its demographic profile, Daigler explores a vast array of topics. Starting with the movement's historical background from the early American period through the early twentieth century to Vatican II and afterward, she considers the role of women (especially Catholicism's more religious adherents) in the movement's evolution, the organization of the ordination movement in the United States, the role and response of clergy and Vatican teachings, the reality of international influences on the U.S. movement, and the full range of challenges--past and present--to the ordination movement. Incompatible with God's Design is compelling reading for any student of theology and women's studies, as well as those interested in staying abreast with the changing role of women within the U.S. Roman Catholic Church.
asking for financial support letter: The Principles That Facilitate Successful and Timely Degree Completion Elizabeth Paradiso Urassa, 2021-02-03 Scholarly evidence indicates that almost fifty percent of people who commence higher education delay completing their studies, and other dropouts. Most governments have introduced a policy that requires students to complete their studies within a limited time, especially the research students (master's and doctoral degree students). The implementation of the policy has also caused tension in higher education students' learning and supervision. Academics have debated and written about the problem widely, and it is no longer a discreet encounter for higher education stakeholders. Despite the scholarly effort of disclosing the challenges' depth, no literature has adequately supported students to implement the policy effectively and successfully. This book attempts to fill the gap by guiding higher education students on observing ten major principles for timely and successful completion. If students perceive, learn, and practice the guidance in this book, they will attain their degree anywhere (in a physical setting, online, home, and abroad) worldwide. The principles might be useful in the orientation programs for first-year students in universities and colleges. First, students ought to comprehend factors that might contribute to the delay completion and dropout. Second, they must analyze and communicate their needs and requirements from the beginning of their enrolment while re-examining their association, networking, self-management, and self-leadership. The book also reminds higher education students to build healthy habits to support developing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains and remain active and creative. Four categories of students' personalities are discussed to urge students to evaluate who they are and whether they are problem solvers, informers, implementers, or workforce to society. The understanding can support them chose the projects that align with what they are to society. Self-awareness and leadership may make the learning task more manageable, enjoyable, and meaningful, and filling the knowledge gap can be realized timely.

asking for financial support letter: Itinerant Ideas Joanna Crow, 2022-09-10 This book explores how ideas about race travelled across national borders in early twentieth-century Latin America. It builds on a vast array of scholarly works which underscore the highly contingent and flexible nature of race and racism in the region. The framework of the nation-state dominates much of this scholarship, in part because of the important implications of ideas about race for state policies. This book argues that we need to investigate the cross-border elaboration of ideas that informed and fed into these policies. It is organized around three key policy areas – labour, cultural heritage, and education – and focuses on conversations between Chilean and Peruvian intellectuals about the ‘indigenous question’. Most historical scholarship on Chile and Peru draws attention to the wars fought in the nineteenth century and their long-term consequences, which reverberate to this day. Relations between the two countries are therefore interpreted almost exclusively as antagonistic and hostile. Itinerant Ideas challenges this dominant historical narrative.

asking for financial support letter: Missionary Candidate Training Paul Sungro Lee, 2008-11-15 Today, the world mission has unprecedentedly become a task of every national churches and believers on earth. Missionaries are being sent out from every nations to every nations! Strategists have previously noticed that Africa, along with East Asia, would emerge as the key fulcrum for world missions in the 21st Century. 2010 Lausanne Congress held in South Africa proved that to be true. Along this path, Evangelical Alliance for Preacher Training/Commission (EAPTC) opened their missions training schools in Kenya and South Korea, using this book as their training text. It was through the efforts of those missionary trainees that their work expanded into over 200 new church plants in 11 countries today. This book was put together mainly for Two-Thirds World missionary candidates who often find themselves limited with sound missions training opportunities around, while the lessons in this manual apply to all who are mission-interested. Going as a missionary or sending a missionary without proper training is quite reckless. The principles of cross-cultural mission presented in 11 chapters of this book are field-tested nuggets that can certainly equip anyone aspiring for missionary work. The training has been scientifically validated effective through research and used in Africa, Asia, Americas and Oceania. This manual is also available in French, Spanish, Portuguese and Amharic.

asking for financial support letter: Love, Friendship, and Expediency in Cicero's Letters Gabriel Evangelou, 2022-03-18 By attacking Epicurean philosophy repeatedly in his public writings, Cicero established himself as one of Epicurus’ most fervent critics. The remarks that he makes about Epicureanism in his letters further suggest a genuine conviction that such a philosophy had no place in Roman society. This consistency in Cicero’s statements has led most scholars to assume that Cicero could not have embraced any of the principles of the Epicurean school. This book challenges the conventional view of Cicero as someone who completely rejected Epicurean philosophy-even in his private life-because of its utilitarian character. It argues that his relationship with Pompey, Caesar, Atticus, Quintus, Terentia, and Tullia encompassed several aspects of Aristotle’s account of φιλία (love and friendship) but was, nonetheless, ultimately based on expediency, in accord with Epicurus’ conception of φιλία. While Cicero’s statements in his public speeches and his letters to men with an active public life have been scrutinised for his lack of candour or for his tendency to exaggerate his achievements, the claims found in his letters to Atticus and to his family have not been treated with equal caution, as they tend be taken at face value. The book highlights the large number of discrepancies in his remarks and argues that, despite his anti-Epicurean statements, personal benefit played a vital role in all of his relationships.
