did kehlani cheat on kyrie: Women's Movements in Twentieth-Century Taiwan Doris Chang, 2010-10-01 This book is the first in English to consider women's movements and feminist discourses in twentieth-century Taiwan. Doris T. Chang examines the way in which Taiwanese women in the twentieth century selectively appropriated Western feminist theories to meet their needs in a modernizing Confucian culture. She illustrates the rise and fall of women's movements against the historical backdrop of the island's contested national identities, first vis-à-vis imperial Japan (1895-1945) and later with postwar China (1945-2000). In particular, during periods of soft authoritarianism in the Japanese colonial era and late twentieth century, autonomous women's movements emerged and operated within the political perimeters set by the authoritarian regimes. Women strove to replace the Good Wife, Wise Mother ideal with an individualist feminism that meshed social, political, and economic gender equity with the prevailing Confucian family ideology. However, during periods of hard authoritarianism from the 1930s to the 1960s, the autonomous movements collapsed. The particular brand of Taiwanese feminism developed from numerous outside influences, including interactions among an East Asian sociopolitical milieu, various strands of Western feminism, and even Marxist-Leninist women's liberation programs in Soviet Russia. Chinese communism appears not to have played a significant role, due to the Chinese Nationalists' restriction of communication with the mainland during their rule on post-World War II Taiwan. Notably, this study compares the perspectives of Madame Chiang Kai-shek, whose husband led as the president of the Republic of China on Taiwan from 1949 to 1975, and Hsiu-lien Annette Lu, Taiwan's vice president from 2000 to 2008. Delving into period sources such as the highly influential feminist monthly magazine Awakening as well as interviews with feminist leaders, Chang provides a comprehensive historical and cross-cultural analysis of the struggle for gender equality in Taiwan.

I think there is a similarity between the infinite big and the infinite smallness of everything, says Yann Tiersen. It's the same experiment looking through a microscope as it is a telescope. Named after a chapel in a small village on the island of Ushant, Kerber marks a new chapter in critically-acclaimed composer Yann Tiersen's career. A chapter still true to Tiersen's nuanced and subtle approach but one that sets out with his most overtly electronic material to date. Beautifully textured, highly immersive and thoughtfully constructed, Tiersen creates an electronic world, providing an environment in which the piano source exists. A sense of place has often been a central theme in Tiersen's work and here that is no different. Each track is tied to a place mapping out the immediate landscape that surrounds Tiersen's home, linking back to his thoughts on the possibilities of the infinite smallness. This official, exclusive folio is beautifully printed on high-quality, uncoated paper with striking graphic artwork. All seven pieces are presented for solo piano and follow an exclusive introduction to the project.

did kehlani cheat on kyrie: The Enforcement of Morals Patrick Devlin, 2009 Are morals always relative? Are private actions--among consenting adults-- always beyond the law? Or are there some behaviors which so weaken a society that common beliefs about right and wrong must be enforced to protect the common good? In opposing the decriminalization of private acts of homosexuality in Britain, Patrick Devlin maintained that not only is it reasonable to allow popular morality to influence lawmaking, it is imperative: . . . For a society is not something that is kept together physically; it is held by the invisible bonds of common thought. Today, as divisive issues such as same-sex marriage and don't ask, don't tell confront our legislative, judicial, and executive branches, the views expressed by Devlin in The Enforcement of Morals resonate and reverberate anew. Patrick Devlin (1905-1992) studied history and law at Cambridge University and became a successful lawyer.

did kehlani cheat on kyrie: The Net Neutrality Debate Congressional Research Service, 2017-07-20 As congressional policymakers continue to debate telecommunications reform, a major discussion point revolves around what approach should be taken to ensure unfettered access to the Internet. The move to place restrictions on the owners of the networks that compose and provide access to the Internet, to ensure equal access and nondiscriminatory treatment, is referred to as net neutrality. While there is no single accepted definition of net neutrality, most agree that any such definition should include the general principles that owners of the networks that compose and provide access to the Internet should not control how consumers lawfully use that network, and they should not be able to discriminate against content provider access to that network. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in its February 26, 2015, open meeting voted 3-2, along party lines, to adopt new open Internet rules and released these rules on March 12, 2015. One of the most controversial aspects of the rules is the decision to reclassify broadband Internet access service as telecommunications service under Title II, thereby subjecting Internet service providers to a more stringent regulatory framework. With limited exceptions, the rules went into effect June 12, 2015. Various parties challenged the legality of the FCC's 2015 Open Internet Order, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, in a June 14, 2016, ruling, voted (2-1) to uphold the legality of all aspects of the 2015 FCC Order. A petition for full court review was denied, leaving the next legal option a petition for U.S. Supreme Court review. The FCC's May 18, 2017, adoption (2-1) of a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to reexamine the rules adopted in 2015, with an eye to considering a less regulatory approach, has once again opened up the debate over what the appropriate framework is to ensure an open Internet. Reaction to this proposal has been mixed. Some see the current FCC rules as regulatory overreach and welcome a more light-touch approach which they feel will stimulate broadband investment, deployment, and innovation. Others fully support the current 2015 regulations and feel that their modification will result in a concentration of power to the detriment of content, services, and applications providers, as well as consumers, and refute the claim that these regulations have had a negative impact on broadband investment, expansion, or innovation. To date, congressional action in the 115th Congress has focused on two aspects of the current rules: privacy (S.J.Res. 34, S. 878, S. 964, H.J.Res. 86, H.Res. 230, H.R. 1754, H.R. 1868, H.R. 2520) and transparency (S. 228, H.R. 288). Separately, legislation (S. 993) to nullify the FCC's 2015 Open Internet Order has also been introduced. The FCC's move to reexamine its existing open Internet rules has reopened the debate over whether Congress should consider a more comprehensive measure to amend existing law to provide greater regulatory stability and guidance to the FCC. Whether Congress will choose to address more comprehensive legislation to amend the 1934 Communications Act, to provide a broad-based framework for such regulation, remains to be seen.

Since his Coodabeens debut in 1983, Champs has written thousands of football and cricket-themed songs that have become part of the Australian sporting vernacular, and for the first time their lyrics are collected in one place. From Dermott Brereton is a Hood and I Am Diperdomenico to Theres Only One Tony Lockett and Tony Modras Gone Surfing, Champions ditties and parodies have become favourite singalongs, harking back to simpler times when a lukewarm pie and a tattered beanie were all that footy fans needed for a day in the outer. After 36 years on the ABC airwaves, Champs has also toured the country constantly since he first came to national prominence with his 1986 single, I made a hundred in the backyard at Mums. In 1995, the Seven Network adopted his fan favourite, Thats the thing about football, as its theme tune for AFL broadcasts, and the song became became ubiquitous. Though many of the lyrics in this anthology will be familiar to lovers of Champions songs, the stories behind them might not. It is safe to say that Mrs Brereton wasnt entirely pleased with Champions take on her famous son. Other Champion targets can only smile and laugh. As Hawthorn legend Robert Dipper DiPierdomenico puts it: Greg Champions ditties have put fun into footy. Of course, I gave him a huge kick start with I am DiP-ier-dom-en-ico!

did kehlani cheat on kyrie: Consent on Campus Donna Freitas, 2018-08-01 A 2015 survey of twenty-seven elite colleges found that twenty-three percent of respondents reported personal experiences of sexual misconduct on their campuses. That figure has not changed since the 1980s, when people first began collecting data on sexual violence. What has changed is the level of attention that the American public is paying to these statistics. Reports of sexual abuse repeatedly make headlines, and universities are scrambling to address the crisis. Their current strategy, Donna Freitas argues, is wholly inadequate. Universities must take a radically different approach to educating their campus communities about sexual assault and consent. Consent education is often a one-time affair, devised by overburdened student affairs officers. Universities seem more focused on insulating themselves from lawsuits and scandals than on bringing about real change. What is needed, Freitas shows, is an effort by the entire university community to deal with the deeper questions about sex, ethics, values, and how we treat one another, including facing up to the perils of hookup culture-and to do so in the university's most important space: the classroom. We need to offer more than a section in the student handbook about sexual assault, and expand our education around consent far beyond Yes Means Yes. We need to transform our campuses into places where consent is genuinely valued. Freitas advocates for teaching not just how to consent, but why it's important to care about consent and to treat one's sexual partners with dignity and respect. Consent on Campus is a call to action for university administrators, faculty, parents, and students themselves, urging them to create cultures of consent on their campuses, and offering a blueprint for how to do it.
did kehlani cheat on kyrie: Ascend Ascend Janaka Stucky, 2019-04-30 Ascend Ascend was written over the course of twenty days, coming in and out of trance states brought on by intermittent fasting and somatic rituals while secluded in the tower of a 100-year-old church. It is rooted in the jewish mystical tradition of merkabah literature, chronicling an ascent up the kabbalistic sefirot to witness the chariot of god. While traditional merkabah prose trends dry--focused on preparations for the journey while demurring to describe the experience itself--Ascend Ascend uses poetry to touch the ineffable. Equal parts Walt Whitman and Maggot Brain, this long poem documents the ecstatic destruction of the self.
