I felt even worse about this because while we were working on building the program people were continuing to get surgeries and other extremely invasive treatments that are absolutely unnecessary.I knew that it was important to make sure the program worked, but I felt like I was failing everyone by not getting the information out sooner.The problem was that the people with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction that we were treating did not present with the same muscle tension patterns and different protocols were needed to get relief for their symptoms. Which meant that the program could not be one size fits all, which actually forced us to take the time to test and retest the program over and over again until we really understood what the mechanism behind the dysfunction was.Then, as if by chance, something amazing happened...That's when about a year into the testing process I finally noticed a pattern that all patients shared, which now seems obvious, and everything changed. From this discovery I was able to connect the dots and make a program that could address the different types of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.It was now crystal clear to me that the pelvis is being squeezed by the larger muscles of the hip, putting the pelvic floor muscles into an actively insufficient state - causing chronic spasms in the pelvic floor muscles.Discovering the root cause of Pelvic Pain meant that we could create a solution that would eventually resolve the pain and correct the dysfunction in the pelvis permanently and without surgery.We also discovered that some people with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction have very tight muscles that can be overly strong, while other people with the same pain/symptoms are hypermobile (very flexible) but incredibly weak.What this meant was that while the end goal was to reduce pressure on the pelvis from the Prime Movers (the larger muscles of the hip) the initial approach had to be completely different depending on the type of tension pattern the individual was presenting with.
