Non dimentico certo il decisivo influsso che hanno comportato, insieme alla letteratura, le fiction cinematografiche e televisive straniere, soprattutto statunitensi, che hanno trasformato il fantastico (e altri generi congiunti, come la fantascienza, l’horror o il fantasy) in un prodotto di consumo di massa. Il volume si apre con un saggio panoramico su sviluppo ed evoluzione del racconto fantastico nel XIX secolo, allo scopo di dimostrare l’esistenza di una lunga e ininterrotta tradizione e di comprendere i percorsi attraverso i quali si diramerà nel secolo successivo. Il medesimo taglio si potrà rinvenire negli articoli che hanno per oggetto la produzione narrativa di periodi particolari in cui il fantastico ha conosciuto un successo notevole: il Modernismo, gli anni ’60 e ’70, e il periodo che va dal 1980 ai nostri giorni. Questo gruppo di interventi incentrati sulla narrativa si completa con altri tre contributi in cui si disaminano, rispettivamente, l’opera di Cristina Fernández Cubas (attuale e maggiore maestra del fantastico), la storia e l’evolversi del racconto breve fantastico e l’opera delle autrici spagnole che hanno coltivato la fantascienza, con l’intento di rivendicare il proprio ruolo nella storia di tale genere. Il resto degli articoli di cui si compone la scelta propone altresì due itinerari rilevantissimi per due forme essenziali per la cultura del fantastico in Spagna: il cinema e la TV, rendendo evidente non solo l’importante produzione audiovisiva fantastica, ma anche la sua peculiare storia e trasformazione dalle origini fino alle manifestazioni più recenti. Infine va ricordato che questa monografia si inserisce nelle ricerche e nelle pubblicazioni realizzate dal Grupo de Estudios sobre lo Fantástico (GEF) della Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, diretto da David Roas e a cui appartengono i diversi specialisti che firmano gli articoli qui raccolti. |
