Psychopharmacology alone is not sufficient for the treatment of conditions such as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder, among others, and the combined use of psychopharmacology and non-pharmacological interventions is recommended by international guidelines. Despite this, most people around the world do not have access to non-pharmacological interventions and when they are diagnosed with a mental disorder, only psychopharmacological drugs are prescribed.
