folded dipole antenna diagram: Antenna Theory and Microstrip Antennas Maniram Ahirwar, Dr. Virendra Singh Chaudhary, 2023-06-23 Antennas are used to send and receive signals in wireless communication systems. The signals are radiated into space as electromagnetic waves, and the received strength is reduced through attenuation. An antenna is a mechanical or electronic device that sends or receives radio waves. It is also possible to see an antenna as a connection between open air and a guiding structure (such a transmission line or waveguide). This book provides a refreshingly even-handed examination of both antenna theory and microstrip antennas. It is accessible and concise, covering the necessary theoretical groundwork, practical materials, and latest developments. This book is a great practical resource for seasoned designers who are looking to brush up on the basics, since it explores a broad range of efficient design techniques. In addition, it gives beginners to the sector the fundamental knowledge of antennas that is necessary for success. The book's major goal is to familiarize readers with the methods and tools necessary to make effective use of the sophisticated commercial software packages and computational electromagnetics necessary for complete wave analysis and antenna design. |

folded dipole antenna diagram: Amateur Radio HF Antennas Claude Jollet, VE2DPE, The contents of this book are mostly aimed at the amateur radio beginner and aspiring ones. Therefore, this book provides answers to basic questions like: What is the best HF antenna for my needs and location? What type of stand-alone antenna tuner should I use and which should I avoid? How can I hide my HF antenna from the neighbors and still get acceptable performance from it? What about lightning protection? This book will supply immediately useful answers to the above questions and many more. A properly designed and installed amateur radio HF antenna system can potentially make the humblest ham radio equipment perform like stations worth thousands of dollars. We are confident that the antenna experimenter will find the information given here priceless. Furthermore, any ham radio operator, armed with the information this book contains, will become a much better informed buyer of commercially made HF antenna systems and accessories. This special compendium edition is published in response to ham radio operators who wrote to ask that all the basic information, on and related to amateur radio HF antennas, be made available in one book instead of four, arguing that it would be more convenient. The author and publisher agree. Therefore this edition contains the complete four-book series on Amateur Radio HF Antennas published by Claude Jollet, VE2DPE. |

folded dipole antenna diagram: Microwave and Millimetre-Wave Design for Wireless Communications Ian Robertson, Nutapong Somjit, Mitchai Chongcheawchamnan, 2016-06-20 This book describes a full range of contemporary techniques for the design of transmitters and receivers for communications systems operating in the range from 1 through to 300 GHz. In this frequency range there is a wide range of technologies that need to be employed, with silicon ICs at the core but, compared with other electronics systems, a much greater use of more specialist devices and components for high performance – for example, high Q-factor/low loss and good power efficiency. Many text books do, of course, cover these topics but what makes this book timely is the rapid adoption of millimetre-waves (frequencies from 30 to 300 GHz) for a wide range of consumer applications such as wireless high definition TV, “5G” Gigabit mobile internet systems and automotive radars. It has taken many years to develop low-cost technologies for suitable transmitters and receivers, so previously these frequencies have been employed only in expensive military and space applications. The book will cover these modern technologies, with the follow topics covered; transmitters and receivers, lumped element filters, tranmission lines and S-parameters, RF MEMS, RFICs and MMICs, and many others. In addition, the book includes extensive line diagrams to illustrate circuit diagrams and block diagrams of systems, including diagrams and photographs showing how circuits are implemented practically. Furthermore, case studies are also included to explain the salient features of a range of important wireless communications systems. The book is accompanied with suitable design examples and exercises based on the Advanced Design System – the industry leading CAD tool for wireless design. More importantly, the authors have been working with Keysight Technologies on a learning & teaching initiative which is designed to promote access to industry-standard EDA tools such as ADS. Through its University Educational Support Program, Keysight offers students the opportunity to request a student license, backed up with extensive classroom materials and support resources. This culminates with students having the chance to demonstrate their RF/MW design and measurement expertise through the Keysight RF & Microwave Industry-Ready Student Certification Program. www.keysight.com/find/eesof-university www.keysight.com/find/eesof-student-certification |

The book offers coverage of key considerations for designing millimeter-wave 5G antennas within space-constrained mobile devices, as well as practical concerns, like cost, fabrication yield, and heat dissipation. Readers will also find explorations of the likely future directions of 5G antenna evolution, as well as: A thorough introduction to basic concepts in 5G FR1 Band mobile antenna design, including discussions of antenna placement, element design, and topologies Comprehensive explorations of antenna feeding mechanisms and impedance matching, including chassis considerations and effects Practical discussions of frequency tunable millimeter-wave 5G antenna-in-package Fulsome treatments of compact millimeter-wave 5G antenna solutions and millimeter-wave antenna-on-display technologies for 5G mobile devices Perfect for antenna, microwave, communications, and radio-frequency engineers, Microwave and Millimeter-wave Antenna Design for 5G Smartphone Applications will also benefit graduate students, policymakers, regulators, and researchers with an interest in communications and antennas. |
folded dipole antenna diagram: Novel Wearable Antennas for Communication and Medical Systems Albert Sabban, 2017-09-29 Wearable antennas are meant to be incorporated as part of clothing or placed close to the body. Wearable antennas can be used in countless communication applications including tracking and navigation, medical applications, imaging and detection, RFID, mobile computing and public safety. The book Novel Wearable Antennas for Communication and Medical Systems discusses the challenges and technology to develop compact, efficient, wearable antennas. The book begins by presenting elementary communication, electromagnetics and antenna topics needed for engineers and students that do not have a background in design, principles, and features of antennas, printed antennas, wearable antennas, and compact antennas for communication and medical applications. Throughout the book each chapter also covers sufficient mathematical details, physical details and explanations to enable the reader to follow and understand the topics presented. New topics and design methods in the area of wearable antennas, metamaterial antennas, active printed antennas and fractal antennas for communication and medical systems are presented and discussed throughout the book. The book presents computed and measured results in the vicinity of the human body. The book also covers topics such as RF measurement techniques, measurement setups and design considerations. The antennas developed and analyzed in this book were designed and optimized by using 3D full-wave electromagnetics software. |
folded dipole antenna diagram: Frequency Independent Antennas Victor H. Rumsey, 2014-06-28 Frequency Independent Antennas provides a reasonably complete coverage of frequency independent antennas from its inception until the middle of 1965. Most of the contents have not previously been published, except in scattered journal articles, and some are original. The first six chapters are written at a fairly easy level—about the level of a beginning graduate student or the more advanced undergraduate. The last two chapters, which deal with solutions of Maxwell's equations, are at a somewhat higher level. The book opens with a discussion of some fundamental ideas about antennas. It shows how typical measurements can be understood in terms of classical electromagnetic theory: in other words, how to make sense of measured data, how to set up apparatus to get meaningful data, and how to test their significance. Separate chapters follow on the features of frequency independent, plane-sheet, spiral, and log-periodic antennas. Subsequent chapters discuss how the periodic structure theory provides a way of understanding the peculiarities of frequency independent antennas; and solutions of Maxwell's equations for idealized spiral and idealized sinusoidal structures. |
