Understanding the Unique Challenges of Altitude
Altitude Physical Therapy Broomfield understands the unique challenges presented by high-altitude living and activity. The thin air at higher elevations impacts oxygen levels, leading to various physiological changes that can affect musculoskeletal health. These changes can exacerbate existing conditions or even trigger new injuries. Altitude Physical Therapy Broomfield is uniquely positioned to address these challenges, providing specialized care tailored to the specific needs of individuals living and working at altitude.
Core Methodologies at Altitude Physical Therapy Broomfield
Altitude Physical Therapy Broomfield employs a comprehensive and holistic approach to rehabilitation, incorporating various evidence-based methodologies:
1. Manual Therapy: Our experienced therapists utilize advanced manual therapy techniques, including soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, and manipulation, to address musculoskeletal restrictions, reduce pain, and improve joint mobility. This is especially crucial for individuals experiencing altitude-related muscle stiffness and joint pain.
2. Therapeutic Exercise: A tailored exercise program is a cornerstone of our treatment. This involves a graded progression of exercises designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance. At Altitude Physical Therapy Broomfield, we carefully consider the impact of altitude on exercise tolerance and adapt programs accordingly, ensuring patient safety and effective progress. This includes exercises specifically designed to improve oxygen uptake and reduce the effects of altitude sickness.
3. Neuromuscular Re-education: We focus on improving neuromuscular control and coordination, essential for preventing re-injury and optimizing functional movement. Proprioceptive exercises, focusing on balance and coordination, are particularly important at higher altitudes where balance can be compromised.
4. Modalities: We utilize various modalities, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy, to manage pain, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue healing. These modalities can be especially helpful in addressing altitude-related muscle soreness and inflammation.
5. Functional Training: Our approach emphasizes functional training, focusing on activities that replicate real-life movements and tasks. This ensures that patients can return to their daily activities and desired levels of physical function without limitations. This is crucial for those whose work or recreational activities are impacted by altitude.
6. Patient Education: A critical component of our care is patient education. We empower our patients with the knowledge and tools to manage their condition effectively, both during and after treatment. This includes education on altitude acclimatization, exercise modification at altitude, and injury prevention strategies.
Specialized Services for Altitude-Related Injuries
Altitude Physical Therapy Broomfield offers specialized services to address various altitude-related injuries and conditions, including:

The report was commissioned by the Swiss health authorities to inform decision-making on the further inclusion of homoeopathy in the list of services covered by statutory health insurance. Other studies carried out as part of the Swiss Complementary Medicine Evaluation Programme (PEK) caused a massive stir due to their schematic and exclusively quantitative (negative-)outcomes for homoeopathy. The present report, in contrast, offers a differentiated evaluation of the practice of homoeopathy in health care. It confirms homoeopathy as a valuable addition to the conventional medical landscape – a status it has been holding for a long time in practical health care. |

altitude physical therapy broomfield: The 71F Advantage National Defense University Press, 2010-09 Includes a foreword by Major General David A. Rubenstein. From the editor: 71F, or 71 Foxtrot, is the AOC (area of concentration) code assigned by the U.S. Army to the specialty of Research Psychology. Qualifying as an Army research psychologist requires, first of all, a Ph.D. from a research (not clinical) intensive graduate psychology program. Due to their advanced education, research psychologists receive a direct commission as Army officers in the Medical Service Corps at the rank of captain. In terms of numbers, the 71F AOC is a small one, with only 25 to 30 officers serving in any given year. However, the 71F impact is much bigger than this small cadre suggests. Army research psychologists apply their extensive training and expertise in the science of psychology and social behavior toward understanding, preserving, and enhancing the health, well being, morale, and performance of Soldiers and military families. As is clear throughout the pages of this book, they do this in many ways and in many areas, but always with a scientific approach. This is the 71F advantage: applying the science of psychology to understand the human dimension, and developing programs, policies, and products to benefit the person in military operations. This book grew out of the April 2008 biennial conference of U.S. Army Research Psychologists, held in Bethesda, Maryland. This meeting was to be my last as Consultant to the Surgeon General for Research Psychology, and I thought it would be a good idea to publish proceedings, which had not been done before. As Consultant, I'd often wished for such a document to help explain to people what it is that Army Research Psychologists do for a living. In addition to our core group of 71Fs, at the Bethesda 2008 meeting we had several brand-new members, and a number of distinguished retirees, the grey-beards of the 71F clan. Together with longtime 71F colleagues Ross Pastel and Mark Vaitkus, I also saw an unusual opportunity to capture some of the history of the Army Research Psychology specialty while providing a representative sample of current 71F research and activities. It seemed to us especially important to do this at a time when the operational demands on the Army and the total force were reaching unprecedented levels, with no sign of easing, and with the Army in turn relying more heavily on research psychology to inform its programs for protecting the health, well being, and performance of Soldiers and their families. |

altitude physical therapy broomfield: Dare to Live Stephen W. Parcell Nd, 2011-02 Atherosclerosis is responsible for the majority of heart attacks and is the root of coronary heart disease.
