bachelor of technology in electrical engineering: Engineering Technology Education in the United States National Academy of Engineering, Committee on Engineering Technology Education in the United States, 2017-01-27 The vitality of the innovation economy in the United States depends on the availability of a highly educated technical workforce. A key component of this workforce consists of engineers, engineering technicians, and engineering technologists. However, unlike the much better-known field of engineering, engineering technology (ET) is unfamiliar to most Americans and goes unmentioned in most policy discussions about the US technical workforce. Engineering Technology Education in the United States seeks to shed light on the status, role, and needs of ET education in the United States.

bachelor of technology in electrical engineering: Advances in Communications D.G. Lainiotis, N.S. Tzannes, 1980-08-31 The technical program of the Conference consisted of technical sessions that covered all-important aspects of control, informa tion processing/communications, and computers. In particular, there were numerous technical sessions covering all-important aspects of control, such as control theory, control applications, estima tion, identification, adaptive systems, linear systems, stability, cybernetics, computational methods, and simulation. The program also included many sessions on information processing/communicati ons, such as information theory, coding, signal analysis, signal processing, communication theory, satellite communications, pat tern recognition and image processing. Moreover, there were sever al sessions on computers, in particular on computer systems, com puter communication networks, and automata. Finally, the technical program included numerous sessions on important applications of systems technology, such as power, energy modeling and planning, earth resources, transportation, economics and management, and physiological systems. In view of the broad scope of the Conference technical program and the extensive coverage of many important aspects of systems theory and applications by internationally known researchers, we hope that this collection of papers will be a useful supplement to the published literature and textbooks used for research and teaching. For the success of the Conference we are indebted to a great many people and institutions, primarily to the authors of the papers, without whom the conference would not have existed, and this book would not have materialized. We are particularly indebted to the great majority of them who paid some or all of their own expenses.

bachelor of technology in electrical engineering: Developing Charging Infrastructure and Technologies for Electric Vehicles Alam, Mohammad Saad, Pillai, Reji Kumar, Murugesan, N., 2021-12-31 The increase in air pollution and vehicular emissions has led to the development of the renewable energy-based generation and electrification of transportation. Further, the electrification shift faces an enormous challenge due to limited driving range, long charging time, and high initial cost of deployment. Firstly, there has been a discussion on renewable energy such as how wind power and solar power can be generated by wind turbines and photovoltaics, respectively, while these are intermittent in nature. The combination of these renewable energy resources with available power generation system will make electric vehicle (EV) charging sustainable and viable after the payback period. Recently, there has also been a significant discussion focused on various EV charging types and the level of power for charging to minimize the charging time. By focusing on both sustainable and renewable energy, as well as charging infrastructures and technologies, the future for EV can be explored. Developing Charging Infrastructure and Technologies for Electric Vehicles reviews and discusses the state of the art in electric vehicle charging technologies, their applications, economic, environmental, and social impact, and integration with renewable energy. This book captures the state of the art in electric vehicle charging infrastructure deployment, their applications, architectures, and relevant technologies. In addition, this book identifies potential research directions and technologies that facilitate insights on EV charging in various charging places such as smart home charging, parking EV charging, and charging stations. This book will be essential for power system architects, mechanics, electrical engineers, practitioners, developers, practitioners, researchers, academicians, and students interested in the problems and solutions to the state-of-the-art status of electric vehicles.

bachelor of technology in electrical engineering: Listening to Rosita Mary Ann Villarreal, 2015-10-20 Everybody in the bar had to drop a quarter in the jukebox or be shamed by “Momo” Villarreal. It wasn’t about the money, Mary Ann Villarreal’s grandmother insisted. It was about the music—more songs for all the patrons of the Pecan Lounge in Tivoli, Texas. But for Mary Ann, whose schoolbooks those quarters bought, the money didn’t hurt. When as an adult Villarreal began to wonder how the few recordings of women singers made their way into that jukebox, questions about the money seemed inseparable from those about the music. In Listening to Rosita, Villarreal seeks answers by pursuing the story of a small group of Tejana singers and entrepreneurs in Corpus Christi, Houston, and San Antonio—the “Texas Triangle”—during the mid-twentieth century. Ultimately she recovers a social world and cultural landscape in central south Texas where Mexican American women negotiated the shifting boundaries of race and economics to assert a public presence. Drawing on oral history, interviews, and insights from ethnic and gender studies, Listening to Rosita provides a counternarrative to previous research on la música tejana, which has focused almost solely on musicians or musical genres. Villarreal instead chronicles women’s roles and contributions to the music industry. In spotlighting the sixty-year singing career of San Antonian Rosita Fernández, the author pulls the curtain back on all the women whose names and stories have been glaringly absent from the ethnic and economic history of Tejana music and culture. In this oral history of the Tejana cantantes who performed and owned businesses in the Texas Triangle, Listening to Rosita shows how ethnic Mexican entrepreneurs developed a unique identity in striving for success in a society that demeaned and segregated them. In telling their story, this book supplies a critical chapter long missing from the history of the West.

bachelor of technology in electrical engineering: Recent Advances in Renewable Energy Automation and Energy Forecasting Sarat Kumar Sahoo, Franco Fernando Yanine, Vikram Kulkarni, Akhtar Kalam, 2023-12-08 The advancement of sustainable energy is becoming an important concern for many countries. The traditional electrical grid supports only one-way interaction of power being delivered to the consumers. The emergence of improved sensors, actuators, and automation technologies has consequently improved the control, monitoring and communication techniques within the energy sector, including the Smart Grid system. With the support of the aforementioned modern technologies, the information flows in two-ways between the consumer and supplier. This data communication helps the supplier in overcoming challenges like integration of renewable technologies, management of energy demand, load automation and control. Renewable energy (RE) is intermittent in nature and therefore difficult to predict. The accurate RE forecasting is very essential to improve the power system operations. The forecasting models are based on complex function combinations that include seasonality, fluctuation, and dynamic nonlinearity. The advanced intelligent computing algorithms for forecasting should consider the proper parameter determinations for achieving optimization. For this we need, new generation research areas like Machine learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enable the efficient integration of distributed and renewable generation at large scale and at all voltage levels. The modern research in the above areas will improve the efficiency, reliability and sustainability in the Smart grid.
