back to the roots instructions: Restoring God's People Back to the Roots of Biblical Faith Deeanna Koven, 2012-06 Believers, who have come to the one True God through faith in Yeshua (Jesus), have been grafted into the Commonwealth of Israel. Through the prophet Ezekiel, God told that He Himself would come and rescue His lost sheep and set one shepherd over them. When Yeshua came, He declared that He was that Good Shepherd and He had other sheep who were not Jewish; they must be brought into the fold also. This uniting of Jew and Gentile together in one Body is called the One New Man. Non-Jewish Believers have been kept separated from their Jewish Brothers for the past 1800 years. Much rich heritage was lost to the non-Jewish part of Messiah's Body. Yet God said that Messiah will be retained in Heaven until the complete restoration of everything He had spoken through the prophets was accomplished. It is the purpose of this book to restore the Body of Messiah to the understanding of the Jewish roots of their faith. May we be the answer to Yeshua's prayer that all who believe would become One in Him. DeeAnna Koven was born again at age five through the ministry of Jewish Evangelist Hyman Appelman. She began teaching in Sunday School at age 12, and continued throughout her life in churches and Messianic congregations. After Bible college and the Child Evangelism Fellowship Training Institute, she trained teachers in CEF, taught in a private church school, tutored missionary children in Spain, and taught in a Hebrew academy at Temple Aron HaKodesh in Lauderdale Lakes, FL, where she met and married Jack, her late husband of 28 years. This is her first published book. |

back to the roots instructions: Field Guide to the Wild World of Religion Pamela Dewey, 2013-02 The American religious scene in 1955 was a very tame and predictable world. It matched the tame, predictable world of women's clothing, where most women going out shopping wore a dress with coordinating gloves, hat, and shoes. And it matched the tame, predictable world of children's toys, where almost every young girl yearned for a baby doll that said Ma-Ma, and almost every boy needed a coonskin cap. Choices of fashions, toys, preachers, and churches were limited and domesticated. Fifty years later, the tame, predictable world of 1950s fashions and toys is long gone. Women go shopping in everything from sweatshirts and jeans to tube tops and short shorts. And both boys and girls want the latest Sponge Bob Square Pants video game. The same kind of transformation has gone on in the world of religion. It is no longer tame and predictable either. Welcome to the Wild World of Religion of the 21st Century. Explore its habitats, identify some of the inhabitants, and learn about their characteristics and customs in this Field Guide. |

back to the roots instructions: A Spirit Walker's Guide to Shamanic Tools Rysdyk, Evelyn C., 2014-07-01 Build Your Own Shamanic Toolkit In this beautifully illustrated guide, artist and shamanic teacher Evelyn C. Rysdyk shows you how to create, decorate, consecrate, and use various sacred tools in ritual and healing. Navaho traditional healers bring rattles, corn pollen, eagle feathers, and sage smoke together with songs and dances to affect healing. Ulchi shamans use drums, rattles, and larch tree wands called gimsacha to work healing magic. Manchu shamans will perfume the air with incense and tie on a heavy bustle of iron jingles as a part of their ceremonial costume. Modern shamanic practitioners likewise use sacred tools to facilitate our connection to helper spirits in the Upper, Middle and Lower Worlds, as well as the spirits of nature. While you can purchase many of these tools, there’s nothing quite as powerful as making your own. You’ll find instructions for making rattles, drums, masks, mirrors, spirit figures, fans, bells, pouches, wands, prayer bundles, flutes, whistles, and more. Plus suggestions for responsible ways to obtain the materials you’ll need. “Having an intimate connection to all the spirits that came together in my favorite rattle—knowing that the tiny pebbles came from the local riverbank, the wood handle from a lightning-struck maple in my yard, and the rawhide from a black bear that was hunted by a native friend for food—gives it a far deeper meaning and power.” —from the introduction The author’s original artwork and photographs of shamans and their authentic tools appear throughout the book. |

back to the roots instructions: Single-Instruction Multiple-Data Execution Christopher J. Hughes, 2015-05-01 Having hit power limitations to even more aggressive out-of-order execution in processor cores, many architects in the past decade have turned to single-instruction-multiple-data (SIMD) execution to increase single-threaded performance. SIMD execution, or having a single instruction drive execution of an identical operation on multiple data items, was already well established as a technique to efficiently exploit data parallelism. Furthermore, support for it was already included in many commodity processors. However, in the past decade, SIMD execution has seen a dramatic increase in the set of applications using it, which has motivated big improvements in hardware support in mainstream microprocessors. The easiest way to provide a big performance boost to SIMD hardware is to make it wider— i.e., increase the number of data items hardware operates on simultaneously. Indeed, microprocessor vendors have done this. However, as we exploit more data parallelism in applications, certain challenges can negatively impact performance. In particular, conditional execution, noncontiguous memory accesses, and the presence of some dependences across data items are key roadblocks to achieving peak performance with SIMD execution. This book first describes data parallelism, and why it is so common in popular applications. We then describe SIMD execution, and explain where its performance and energy benefits come from compared to other techniques to exploit parallelism. Finally, we describe SIMD hardware support in current commodity microprocessors. This includes both expected design tradeoffs, as well as unexpected ones, as we work to overcome challenges encountered when trying to map real software to SIMD execution. |
