digital asset management trends: The Digital Multinational Satish Nambisan, Yadong Luo, 2022-02-15 How multinational companies can use digital technology to compete in a world where business is driven by the forces of both globalization and deglobalization. Digital technology has put globalization on steroids; multinational companies now account for one-third of world GDP and one-fourth of world employment. And yet complicating this story of unchecked global capitalism are two contradictory forces. Even as advances in digital technology enable borderless markets, a new nationalism has emerged, reviving protectionism and railing against digital colonialism. In The Digital Multinational, management experts Satish Nambisan and Yadong Luo examine how companies can adopt a dual strategy to cope with this new normal: harnessing the power of digital technology while adapting to the geopolitical realities of particular markets. Key to success, Nambisan and Luo explain, is the notion of tight and loose coupling to characterize the relationship of the digital multinational to its global partners and subsidiaries. Identifying the tightness-looseness requirements of global business connectivity leads to successful business strategy. Drawing on real-world examples that include Burberry’s entrance into the Chinese market, Unilever’s AI-powered global talent marketplace, and the Vocal for Local movement in India, they develop a typology of global business contexts; discuss digital strategies for entering new markets, establishing digital platforms, managing globally dispersed activities, and pursuing innovation; and explain how these strategies can be part of a business leader’s toolkit. The Digital Multinational is an essential guide to competing in a business world driven by both globalization and deglobalization. |
digital asset management trends: Digital Asset Management Elizabeth Keathley, 2014-03-31 Digital Asset Management: Content Architectures, Project Management, and Creating Order out of Media Chaos is for those who are planning a digital asset management system or interested in becoming digital asset managers. This book explains both the purpose of digital asset management systems and why an organization might need one. The text then walks readers step-by-step through the concerns involved in selecting, staffing, and maintaining a DAM. This book is dedicated to providing you with a solid base in the common concerns, both legal and technical, in launching a complex DAM capable of providing visual search results and workflow options. Containing sample job models, case studies, return on investment models, and quotes from many top digital asset managers, this book provides a detailed resource for the vocabulary and procedures associated with digital asset management. It can even serve as a field guide for system and implementation requirements you may need to consider. This book is not dedicated to the purchase or launch of a DAM; instead it is filled with the information you need in order to examine digital asset management and the challenges presented by the management of visual assets, user rights, and branded materials. It will guide you through justifying the cost for deploying a DAM and how to plan for growth of the system in the future. This book provides the most useful information to those who find themselves in the bewildering position of formulating access control lists, auditing metadata, and consolidating information silos into a very new sort of workplace management tool – the DAM. The author, Elizabeth Ferguson Keathley, is a board member of the DAM Foundation and has chaired both the Human Resources and Education committees. Currently Elizabeth is working with the University of British Columbia and the DAM Foundation to establish the first official certificate program for Digital Asset Managers. She has written, taught, and been actively a part of conferences related to the arrangement, description, preservation and access of information for over ten years. digital asset management trends: Digital Pharma Marketing Playbook Subba Rao Chaganti, 2022-10-22 Digital Pharma Marketing Playbook is a first-of-its-kind-of book. It is the first and only book that presents 101 cases in digital pharma marketing. These cases show how some of the leading pharmaceutical companies across the world have used digital and social media channels. They are also excellent learning opportunities to all pharma marketing and brand managers, and students of pharmaceutical marketing. Digital transformation is sweeping the world around us. Everything these days has become digital. The ever-increasing rate of adoption of wearable devices and the advent of the internet of things are digitizing more and more of our experience. At the same time, healthcare in general, and the pharmaceutical industry, in particular, have been lagging in adapting to a digital strategy. It is not that the pharma is new to multichannel marketing. The pharmaceutical industry traditionally has been following a multichannel marketing strategy, where most of the channels have been static rather than dynamic. The number of channels has increased significantly due to the internet explosion. Pharma is moving to a multi-stakeholder world, a world in which stakeholders beyond the prescriber are gaining importance. These new influencer groups such as patients, nurses, payers, and regulators are increasingly turning to digital channels for their information needs regarding healthcare. Digital, therefore, plays a vital role in reaching these new audiences. If you want to maximize the impact of your marketing communications, can you afford to ignore the channels that your stakeholders are frequently using? Of course, not. Therefore, the question is not, to digitize or not to digitize, but how soon and how effectively? Why a Digital Pharma Marketing Playbook? Because, a playbook is a one-stop-read or single-source resource for all the essential information that you need on a given sport — in our case, Digital Pharma Marketing. If you can make work more fun and enjoyable it is play! Moreover, when work becomes play, there are no goals that you cannot score!Contents: 1. Challenging Times! Changing Rules! 2. Digital Revolution 3. Digital Pharma Marketing 4. Social Media Marketing and Pharma 5. Digital Transformation |

digital asset management trends: Metadata Matters John Horodyski, 2022-04-03 In what is certain to be a seminal work on metadata, John Horodyski masterfully affirms the value of metadata while providing practical examples of its role in our personal and professional lives. He does more than tell us that metadata matters—he vividly illustrates why it matters. —Patricia C. Franks, PhD, CA, CRM, IGP, CIGO, FAI, President, NAGARA, Professor Emerita, San José State University, USA If data is the language upon which our modern society will be built, then metadata will be its grammar, the construction of its meaning, the building for its content, and the ability to understand what data can be for us all. We are just starting to bring change into the management of the data that connects our experiences. Metadata Matters explains how metadata is the foundation of digital strategy. If digital assets are to be discovered, they want to be found. The path to good metadata design begins with the realization that digital assets need to be identified, organized, and made available for discovery. This book explains how metadata will help ensure that an organization is building the right system for the right users at the right time. Metadata matters and is the best chance for a return on investment on digital assets and is also a line of defense against lost opportunities. It matters to the digital experience of users. It helps organizations ensure that users can identify, discover, and experience their brands in the ways organizations intend. It is a necessary defense, which this book shows how to build. |
digital asset management trends: Asset Management: Tools And Issues Frank J Fabozzi, Francesco A Fabozzi, Marcos Lopez De Prado, Stoyan V Stoyanov, 2020-12-02 Long gone are the times when investors could make decisions based on intuition. Modern asset management draws on a wide-range of fields beyond financial theory: economics, financial accounting, econometrics/statistics, management science, operations research (optimization and Monte Carlo simulation), and more recently, data science (Big Data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence). The challenge in writing an institutional asset management book is that when tools from these different fields are applied in an investment strategy or an analytical framework for valuing securities, it is assumed that the reader is familiar with the fundamentals of these fields. Attempting to explain strategies and analytical concepts while also providing a primer on the tools from other fields is not the most effective way of describing the asset management process. Moreover, while an increasing number of investment models have been proposed in the asset management literature, there are challenges and issues in implementing these models. This book provides a description of the tools used in asset management as well as a more in-depth explanation of specialized topics and issues covered in the companion book, Fundamentals of Institutional Asset Management. The topics covered include the asset management business and its challenges, the basics of financial accounting, securitization technology, analytical tools (financial econometrics, Monte Carlo simulation, optimization models, and machine learning), alternative risk measures for asset allocation, securities finance, implementing quantitative research, quantitative equity strategies, transaction costs, multifactor models applied to equity and bond portfolio management, and backtesting methodologies. This pedagogic approach exposes the reader to the set of interdisciplinary tools that modern asset managers require in order to extract profits from data and processes. |

digital asset management trends: Print and Electronic Text Convergence Bill Cope, Diana Kalantzis, 2001 With the progressive digitisation of the book production processes, we see the emergence of a potentially potent mix of new technologies. Not potent because these technologies are capable of driving change alones, but potent for the commercial and cultural drivers which may work in concert with new technologies to transform the world of books and reading. Central to these technological developments is the convergence of the technologies of etext and digital print. This book examines recent technological changes in book production. Our focus is in part on technological actuality, centred mostly on the digitisation of text and its consequences. Our focus is also on the realm of possibility. Where might these technological shifts lead us? What are the commercial and cultural conditions under which technological possibility might bear fruits? Within this volume we look specifically at the changing definition of a 'book'. A book is no longer a tangible thing; a book is what a book does. It is information architecture. We examine the various manifestations of electronic book readers and imminent technologies, such as electronic ink, including case study on the use of ebook reading devices by a lending library, and speculate about other uses of such devices. We see the convergence of print and etext - manifestations of the same thing - electronically stored text, with the difference demonstrated only in the shift in mindset necessary to accommodate emergent forms of digital text - as information services within a product-service system, the changing shape of digital design and changes in printing technologies from letterpress to the rise of digital printing. |
